Hand Ranking and Payouts in Deuces Wild
One of the vital things that you need to bear in mind in Deuces Wild is that the four 2's in the stack can stand for any other card irregardless of rank or suit. This is the aspect this game one of the favorite video poker variations. That is why should not throw away any deuce.
Before proceeding with some strategies on how to win the game, let us first discuss how the hands and ranked and their corresponding payouts.
The best ranking hand in the game is the Royal Flush with No Deuce. These are consecutive cards having similar suit. If you play with maximum coin, the payout is more than 4,000 coins. On the other hand, the payout is 250 coins for one to four coin bets. The next hand in the order is Four Deuces. As the name implies, it consists of all the deuces in a single hand. The payout is 200 coins each bet.
The third best hand is the Wild Royal Flush which contains more than one deuce. The payout for this particular hand is 20 or 25 coins for every bet.
In Five-of-a-Kind, all five cards dealt to you have identical values which consist of more than one deuce. The payout is 16, 15, or 12 coins each bet.
In the following hands, the payouts are similar regardless of whether they are natural or consist of deuces.
A straight flush is a hand containing five sequential cards having similar suit. For this hand, the payout is 10, 9 or 8 for each coin wager.
In a Four-of-a-kind, the payout is 5 or 4 coins for each bet. This is a hand consisting of four cards with similar values.
A full house is a hand consisting of three cards with similar values and a pair of cards having similar value as well. The payout is 3 or 4 for each coin bet.
A flush is a five-card hand having similar suit but not sequential. For this kind of hand, the payout is 3 or 2 for every coin bet. A hand containing five cards in sequence but not having similar suit is a straight. The payout is 2 for every coin bet.
The most inferior and lowest hand in terms of payout is the Three of A Kind. If you get three cards with similar value, your original bet will be returned to you.
Take note that in Deuces Wild there are no payouts for Two Pairs or Pairs. While this aspect contributes to the volatility of the game, it can bring more excitement compared to Jacks or Better.
